
The Head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, begins today his duties as Public Commissioner in the Special Appeals Chamber.
After the end of his mandate on December 31, 2024, the Public Commissioner will be replaced in the judicial sessions of the Chamber by the head of the Special Prosecution Office.
Today, at 10:00, the re-evaluation session for the subject Arben Dosti will continue.
The end of the mandate of the public commissioners at the end of 2024 will be followed by the taking over of the baton by the head of the Special Prosecution Office, who will represent the appealed cases in the Special Appeals Chamber.
The mandate for the continuation of the vetting in the second instance has a deadline of June 2026. During the six years of the triple control process in the first instance, 805 officials have been re-evaluated, of whom 268 were not confirmed in office, not including about 100 others who resigned.
Currently, 42 judges and prosecutors who have appealed remain to be reviewed by the Special Appellate Chamber, while 130 dismissed judges and prosecutors from Albania have filed lawsuits with the Strasbourg Court.
